Results: Down 3.0 lbs and 0.5". What doesn't show in the measurements is my belly loss. I'm kicking myself now for not measuring the larges part of my belly initially because it has diminished a lot in size. I almost have a flat tummy! My size 8 jeans are starting to get a bit baggy on my and my small scrub bottoms are going to need to be extra small very soon.
This week I tried Zumba for the first time. OMG! It was amazingly fun and so much work! You definitely feel the burn. I also found a gym right around the corner from my house that has classes and is relatively cheap. Only $21 a month. But, I have to sign a 2 year contract. I'm thinking I should do it. I do cardio at home no problem, but I tend to skip weight training a lot. I'm up to 1.5 miles running without stopping to walk.
Favorite New Recipe: Skinny Chicken Pesto Bake. This is supposed to be served with pasta. So I made pasta for my brother, but for myself I made zucchini pasta. Basically, you julienne slice a zucchini, then blanch it for 10-15 seconds. I then served with a few chopped tomatoes and a small amount of prego.

Way Late!
If anyone happens to be following my blog, I apologize for the tardiness! I was in Tampa all weekend, and had to work as soon as I got back. Before jumping in the car to drive to Tampa on Saturday, I did manage to do my weight and measurements.

Thigh: 23.5
Results: I'm down 0.8 pounds from last week, but still up 0.2 lbs from start. And I'm down 1.25" for the week!
Inspiration time: I was in Tampa this past weekend visiting family. We ate out a lot and even when we didn't, the food was definitely not healthy. Plus, with all the stuff we were doing, I could have easily been tempted to skip my workouts. However, I chose as healthy as I could (we ordered Chinese one night and instead of getting bourbon chicken or sesame chicken, I got steamed chicken with veggies and only had a few fork fulls of rice) and I went for a 1 mile run the first night and a 1 mile walk the next morning. Now, the walk was actually to go to the gas station to get an apple for breakfast since the one provided was carb and grease overload. And, upon getting home, I weighed myself and only gained 0.2 lbs. I'm pretty proud of that.
Second inspiration: I've reached 1.25 miles without having to stop and walk. I've also reached the point in running where the feeling of dying slowly slips away and the endorphins kick in and you feel like you're flying. It's an amazing feeling.

Day late!
Oops! I didn't have time yesterday to get on and blog about my week of fitness or my results for the week. I did, however, weigh and measure myself yesterday. So the data is correct and on time, but my delivery of such data is belated. Oh well.

This week is a perfect example of why you should weight yourself as well as measure yourself! I gained a pound. Had I not done my measurements, I may have gotten discouraged. However, I did do measurements and although I may have gained a pound, I lost 1.5"! That's pretty awesome. Also, last week I was only able to run 1/2 a mile without having to stop and walk and I am now up to running the entire mile without walking. Now, I am going to slowly extend that mile. Running tip; exhale when your left foot hits the ground to avoid getting side stitches/cramps.
Favorite recipe for the week was Buffalo Chicken Rolls. I made these for the household, but made sure to make extra of the filling. Also, I used Franks Buffalo wing sauce, not hot sauce. Sooo good. And, I chose to use dry coleslaw mix. I only ate one of the rolls in order to not load up on carbs. The rest of my meal consisted of a handful of coleslaw mix with buffalo chicken on top, sprinkled with blue cheese. I also had garlic roasted broccoli.
